Digimarc got DOGE’d!!!!!!
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read it. Simply hilarious. The CFO on their conference call:
“Moreover and unrelated, due to a recent change in government requirements on the eve of program launch, we expect a $3.7 million per year DRS contract we signed 2 years ago to lapse in Q2 of this year.”
There’s a new administration in power that wants to slash spending, and suddenly a change in government requirements causes the cancellation of a large contract when all we hear on a daily basis is how many useless government contracts DOGE is cancelling every day. What else could it be?
Sorry, I just had to lead with that little tidbit. It’s not every day that a kid that goes by the handle Big Ballz helps drive a nail into the coffin of one of my ideas, so I just couldn’t resist.
While Big Ballz alone is not responsible for shares that are now down 60% since first highlighting them back on January 8th, he is likely having some effect.
Until I read that in the conference call transcript I was thinking about leading with the “WalMart just ain’t coming back” idea, but this one was much better.
