Is this exactly how all the analysts imagined that MACOM would make their quarter?

Judging by the questions the analysts were all asking on the conference call, nobody really seemed to care how the company was able to make the number, just as long as they did make the number.

And that’s fine to a certain degree, as long as they are at least aware of where things are really coming from. But it certainly sounds like they’re not.

So between the backslapping and the incessant usage of acronyms and the talk of supposed return to growth and the book-to-bill at 1.1 yet again and the strong end markets and the return of demand and the chatter about how quickly gross margins can rise back up to that mythical 60%+ zone they had been before a recent acquisition, they all failed to ask that one basic question that would have told them how their business was really doing.
