I have been kicking around adding a quick little recap, either weekly or monthly, aimed mostly at my free subscribers, and finally decided to put one together and to make it a monthly feature. In all honesty, I likely don’t have enough content for something weekly, so had to settle on something monthly. Hope you find this to be at least somewhat helpful and would appreciate reading any comments you may have.
As I have transitioned more of my content to my paid subscribers, I will provide here some links to ideas and stories you may have missed, naturally in an effort to entice my free subscribers into becoming paid subscribers.
Without further ado…
The year started out with a revision to my quarterly interest list format and a few thoughts on how to provide more value to subscribers.
Next came a discussion regarding some of the names I would no longer be actively following, along with a few thoughts on some names that were added.
The first new idea of the year was Digimarc (DMRC) when it was trading for $43.46. I have followed this name for a number of years, and every so often the bulls are able to exert some control regardless of the underwhelming results.
Next I added a few comments to the quarterly results from AEHR Test Systems (AEHR). I originally commented on shares of AEHR back in 2023 when it was trading for close to $50, and have subsequently removed and then added only to remove the name once again only to add it back to my list. I removed shares of AEHR from my interest list (hopefully for the last time) at the end of the year, but thought a few comments regarding their results were in order.
Mercurity Fintech Holding (MFH) was my next idea when the shares were trading for $6.83. A new idea worthy of some due diligence.
I provided a few thoughts on older idea Fluence Energy (FLNC), as news of a fire at one of their installations was causing some concerns. Shares are down maybe 15% or so since that mention, and over 30% since I first wrote about it.
Hesai Group (HSAI) was a revisit of a “quick take” from 2023 and an expansion of my thoughts on their business and its prospects. Shares at the time were $15.66, but have seen some real volatility over the last few days, going from a down $2 day to up $3 the next just in the past week. Earnings are due at the end of the month.
That new idea was soon followed by a story on Himax Technology (HIMX), benefitting from what I deemed to be some irrational exuberance over a bloggers post. HIMX at the time was $12.85.
Finally, to close out the month, the folks over at Transcat (TRNS) were kind enough to release their quarterly results, and they weren’t wonderful. I provided some thoughts about the results and where I felt the stock may be headed. I originally pointed this name out in May 2024 when shares were trading for $142.
Once again, please provide a few comments if you find this to be of any use. It’s simply meant to be a quick roundup of the last month’s happenings to keep every subscriber informed to one degree or another.
And as always, if you should happen to have a friend, associate, or colleague you believe might have interest, please do me the favor of sharing this publication or this post.
If publicly commenting isn’t something you’re interested in doing, please feel free to send me a personal note.
